personally I like the lg brand, less popular than an I phone or a samsung but the specs are throgh the roof, my optimus has 2gigs of ram, quadcore processor and 40 gigs of internal memory, only downside is no otterbox

Sure I know how to change the permissions in all the apps depending on how it's made I can strip many to just the ones I need to make those android apps work I even know the top of the line anti-virus app within the market but is all that really with it so guys like yourself can play candy crush.
When they are talking about security they are referring to both data transmission and reception as well as lost and found. Don't know of you know this bud but the black market for cell phones is slowly climbing, you don't think these guys are going to the risk of snatching phones just so they can in some cases not all switch sim cards do ya?
The right person even an 8 year old can cracking an android. There is only one android on the market that I know of that encrypted my data however it would bog down as it transmitted and receive data and that was a Motorola Photon Q. Sure it has the snap dragon processor etc but it would bog down as far as battery life it was a joke till I stripped permissions and stock apps left and right.
Which blackberry version do you have? What you may need to do and this is true in rare cases un-install the software and reinstall or simply do an update.
The older blackberries are behind the curve the newer version 10 is hot! So much so they have sold the rights to use that same software to various auto manufacturers to use in their cars and so far not one problem to date.
To each his own I have had palmpre which was just a baby android and where android got its start I have had androids as well still have them in my dresser should have em up on ebay soon. 3D camera on one was really cool may buy another like I said I can beef up the security somewhat just depends on the app. I can even have it rooted by them guys at rootpros.com to assist with security that too is a risk because it can allow some apps more access than one may want but at least you can install a real firewall instead of the fake one.
BlackBerry 10 is the latest version with the least complaints and with the fastest browser in the industry as well as the most intuitive interface in the industry and yes this version is paving the way for a BlackBerry comeback too!
As far as paranoid I would not go so far as to say that but it is better to be safe than sorry, like I said the government can spy on any phone they wish as far as data transmission and reception but they cannot tap into the instant messenger and they can't tap into blackberry emails while they are transmitted and or received and that level of security is very comforting to have, trust me I sleep well at night many android and iPhone users just don't sleep as well as I do knowing that their flashy phone may cost them dearly one day they just don't know when. -
If security is an issue, Samsung's new KNOX feature would be worth looking into.

I'm gonna say this and leave it alone I don't want a thread jacker rep on this site.
Once ya try Black you'll never go back and the Blacker the Berry the sweeter the juice!!! Dude at least try the time laps camera that alone should put a smile on your face. If that don't get ya ask the rep to show you the amazing keyboard. -
Stick with the androids, easier to use and will do everything an iPhone can do.

Ok, first, I never said I had a blackberry. Never have, never will. I'm sure they probably have good phones, but they don't have the capabilities I like in a phone.
I also never claimed to be totally secure. What I said was I've never had a security issue. I'm very picky about what I install and what websites I visit. That means no bill paying or banking.
Do I want to get spied on? No. Are they going to find anything if they do? No. Do I lose sleep at night worrying about it? No. -
I have a iPhone 4s and I love it. It's user friendly and gets reception everywhere I go so far.

Androids have way too many fake apps that steal info for my taste. Apple checks every app before it gets put on the App Store for security leaks and to make sure it meets the "apple standards". I like that peace of mind.

I love my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. 64gb HD, 3gb ram, 2.3ghz quad core (tim allen grunt grunt grunt)
Pretty much made my laptop obsolete.
