Well...you just do them, quick check for traffic and cops, then hurry up and get it done.Or you can try to turn around in a Church PL and maybe knockdown some phone lines.Yes,try to avoid it,but sh.. happens. Before you know it ,youre 10 miles off course in a Brady Bunch Subdivision, looking at mailboxes ,trees and culde sacs.Yep,should have went for it earlier. This means that it has to be doable,ie enough room,no traffic, cops around.

FIRST OFF, It is illegal for a big truck to make a u-turn UNLESS on a posted truck route w/sign indicating a u turning lane. However, it is possible when on a double lane highway by pulling to an intersection in the right lane and making a left hand turn into the opposite lane of travel keeping in mind the rear trailer tandems will not track the same as the truck and they could runover a curb or into a ditch.

Having no other choice, look for a alternate road to your destination via going out of route along a two lane even if it was ten or twenty miles to the next unrestricted road with a route back to the intersection you missed.

Lastly, if you are lucky.....a walmart size parking lot can be helpful.

Ya,if you keep your adjustable 5th wheel half back(if your rig has a luxury of an adjustable 5th wheel) and dont get Crazy ie. Turn so sharp with heavy load as to where you start snapping lug nuts off.(Yes Ive been guilty of this) its not Too Bad (after its over and no flashing lights behind you...You Forget About it Quick.

Size matters when jacking that big rig...how many newbies found out after they couldn't fit 73 feet of heavy metal in that small turn, hoorah!

Avoid if possible, and it's almost always possible. I've done 1.

Side note, though many hate those traffic circles they're great if you're going the wrong direction.
