If you receive another dot stop within the 7 or 14 days of the inspection, a ticket can be issued for false log not reflecting the inspection.

I would think since the Inspection has to be logged then one could simply tell Mr. DOT to meet you at the truckstop after your break is over and then he could do the inspection. A break is a break. Like Ohio when they pull into a rest area and want to do an inspection just ask them to sign stating they interrupted your break and since they don't want to do that they can come back after the break is over. Be nice if SCALEMASTER or DEISELBEAR could chime in here....

I was on paper and got an inspection that showed I was there for 50 minutes. However, the actual time of the stop was only 16 minutes. I logged the stop at 15 minutes and did not notice the times on the form until later. The tolls had to match the log which they did. In order to Match the times, I would have had to have a false log and eat the tolls.

I contacted Dieselbear and he told me that they could give me a false log ticket because the log did not match the inspection. The inspection is on the computer system used by the dot and can be found whether you have the form or not.

Sure they could - and you could data-q it all away by submitting timestamped toll receipts. And ask that the officer be cited for falsifying the inspection report.

The overall impression that I got was that DOT is being pushed for their inspection quota before year end. And that they hate having to do them as much as we hate having to go through them.

Lucky for me, I did not get stopped because I left the log showing the true times, not the inspection times.

    mje Thanks this.

yeah, but anytime you are with DOT, thats onduty

so when they audit you, i do believe (never been in an audit) that they will see that from 0800 to 0900 you were on-duty not driving

so if you were doing a 10 or 34, what did that do to your break? i dont know, if i was me, i would just flag it and leave it off-duty

    mje Thanks this.
