Last I understood, one in the presence of Law Enforcement
was to "comply" or suffer negative recourse.
Ive been caught with dirty books several times, and never once suffered anything more then a few hrs "time-out" the LEO's that write the pay check benders are generally pretty self centered and looking to impress the statistics of a Precinct. Many try to get both the toaster and the blender in the same month :biggrin_25523:
Be smarter then what your working with and the greater measure of "control" will never be forfeited to Law Enforcement/Compliance. Chaps a cops butt pretty good when they cant beat a seasoned Truck Driver.

I almost Welcome the Challenge, its only money and I'll make abit more in my day........:biggrin_25525:

But Cops ? yeah we need plenty of them these days.
But sadly "Cops" are has hard to come by as real "Truck Drivers" .

I never "lie" on my logs, but sometimes I make a "mistake".

Yes it is a broad claim, but it does happened. There are good & bad in both your line of work & in mine.

So far with my logs i have tryed to be as accurate as possible, I was stopped NB I 95 weigh station in GA, The officer was the grumpiest i had ever met, had me bring all my papwerwork he dissapeared up stairs for an hour. Came down and said i had the best paperwork he had seen in months. Didn't give any ticket at all. So some times honesty is the best way to........as far as log books that is.

    You sure about an hour?

Most cannot keep you there for more than 30 minutes.

    Roadmedic,
Because of the goofy looking home made truck i am stuck driving i get stopped all most every other day ( total 38 times this year ). Time DOT holds me for ranges from 30 to 1 hour. I do keep track of time and where and when. I have been stopped 2 times in 1 day 4 times this year. 99% of my stops are weigh stations for level 3 inspections.mobile units 3 times.

    Hmmm...

Heard the ex-DOT guy on Roaddog this morning talking about some company that had the gumshoes in house for 10-weeks and counting in a compliance review. They didn't want to see any of the paper trail... just pulling GPS position reports and matching them to the paper logs.

    +/- 1 hour.
    +/- 50 miles.

That's as much fudging as we get now.
