I did food service for about a year in between my time at Roehl. I ran Denver to the surrounding states, including to Salt Lake City twice a week. I wasn't sore after the first month and I got pretty ripped. My wife liked that. I didn't care. LOL Anyway, It's hard work and a good gig if you can adjust to it. I got paid by the mile and piece. The biggest problem I had was that at some of our stores we had to park the truck across the parking lot and use a two wheel dolly to run the product across the lot and up a curb ramp. Potholes in the lot and snow and ice made it a challenge sometimes. Curbs, what curbs? I used to roll over stupid parking lot curbs all night to get close to the back door of the stores I was delivering to. Ahhh, food service,,,

Sounds like when I used to pick up scrap metal as far as the physical part, not too many tight places. Usually the tightest spots were with the roll-offs and it was usually watching for overhead wires raising the boom, or someone wanting the can placed ever so neatly in a garage.

3 & 1/2 hours left on my 11/14. I'm shutting down in Lake Station for fear of no parking spots, running a fever and I have a splitting headache. I feel so bad I don't want to walk into the TA to get anything. I think I made my own parking spot since I'm in no mood to back into anything. Should be a easy straight back in the morning. We'll see what dispatch says in the morning to me because I can't drive anymore tonight.

Someone blindsided there trailer into me last night and woke me up. By the time I got my pants on and out the door he was driving away. Now I have three holes in my cab and a crushed light.

Safety went and looked at my tractor and basically he said the the marks were from the trailer door hinges. He asked if I caught the guy or plates. I told him by the time I got out of the tractor all I could see was the back of his trailer speeding away. Also I told him I reported it to security and that there were no cameras on the parking lot. They filled the holes already and fixed the light, although I had like three of those led lights in my side box. They didn't have me fill out a incident report since I couldn't get the guys info. Not so funny thing another one of our fleet trucks was hit that night as well by a U.S. Xpress truck but all that he took off was a mirror.

I have the flu right now and just got home today. I go out again tomorrow morning. The lady in safety saw how sick I was today and just said not to get her sick. She gave me some nice cough drops but the liquid mucinex maximum strength is what broke my fever and stopped my headache.

Safety is ordering me a new phone since push 2 talk keeps crashing and sometimes it will power down and then turn back on randomly. This isn't good since the phone is my e-logs.

i will say it is nice I get to choose my own route but just need to avoid tolls whenever possible. For fueling I was given a packet of places where I can fuel. I usually top off before I leave though so I don't need to worry about it.

Some guy was giving me crap today about not opening the doors before I backed my empty in. Well I should have given him crap since there were trailers parked in front of the dock doors. The guy inside said they weren't supposed to be there and it almost made it impossible to park. It was nice of them to move the trailer after I was at the dock doors.
