Alright so it looks like a lot of people are interested so I'll do my best to keep you all entertained haha.
So Friday I got to move into my truck and it's much nicer than I was expecting. The previous driver took very good care of it and I know him personally so that's a plus. He was able to tell me the little quirks about it. Such as the purple tinted overhead lights and tendency to have an immediate Jake brake reaction. Side note I am really liking the gray / purple combo
Anyhow, I moved in and the creature comforts are a plenty. Bed is big, plenty of storage and it comes with a fridge and that's something I never had so that's awesome. Started Friday by going around Wisconsin grabbing three picks to bring to the yard so dispatch could build a couple loads. I ended up not heading home due to limited freight to the east coast but that's ok in my eyes, I'm getting some miles under my belt and headed out to California by way of a drop in Phoenix AZ. Hopefully then , California to Wisconsin and then home to Ny for a little bit to grab the rest of my things.
It's my first time since truck school driving an 18 speed and it all came back to me very easily. The truck has plenty of power and is able to do the speed limit in every state so that's nice. I have to wait 60 days from date of hire to receive benefits which include a pay raise, insurance stuff and best of all the ability to customize your truck. Some things have been faded out such as shifter extensions, but it nullifies the Peterbilt warranty so that makes sense to me. But you get to pick color, can add lights, pick the phrase on the side to name your truck, and drop visors.
Over all I've had a good experience on my own. Sure does feel good to be behind the wheel of long hood Pete! If anyone has questions I'll be happy to answer any

Any chance you could take a few pics of the headache rack? In the pics they look like the deck sits really low on the frame rails.
Pulling a box trailer mine will scrape with the bottom corner of the trailer if you are twisted just right. Dreading the day the trailer wipes it off the truck.Ruthless Thanks this. -

Best one I have at the moment. It sits like a normal one would I guess , we have those bungees holding the lines up out of the way to help with turning other than that I mean it's pretty big , holds a ton of equipment
