I do not have hazmat and am not planning on getting it. I was also told that it was not necessary. However, you are expected to haul the legal limit of hazmat that a non-hazmat license holder can haul. I had to take a load once that had some paint included with major appliances going to a Home Depot.

OK, caught up now. Sorry for all the posts. I just didn't want to make a multi-quote post from hell. Besides, sometimes after trying to reply to several posts at one time, I forget why I quoted something and what I was going to say.

Funny thing is, I have seen Roehl trailers out there without locks and talked to other drivers that don't lock empties. I told my FM that me and the lock are one.

I heard that is about to change...at least for the flats...and we will be required to have one.

Where did you go in Florida GRC? I made a vacation run to Bonita Springs to visit nephews and sister. Then went to Key Largo to visit my brother and his brood. Of course I went to Key West to see the sunset celebration!
I saw some Roehl trucks as far South as Port Charlotte on I-75. -
I was in the Marshfield yard picking up an empty refeer that needed to be washed out. I washed it out and brought it around by the shop to go in to talk to my DSR. Since it never left the yard and was just sitting there dripping wet I didn't put the trailer lock on it. As I was sitting there talking another DSR came walking in and said "whose truck number #### is sitting out there?" I said mine why? He said because it doesn't have a lock on it. I informed him that I just picked it up in the yard, washed it out and left it sitting here and since I wasn't leaving the property I felt it didn't need a lock. He didn't say another word.
