I'm going to orientation at Gary IN on 11/16/09. I live just north of Kings Island right by Ceasars Creek Lake. Are you nearby?

I start orientation on monday 11/09/2009 in Marshfield Wi. I have been hearing alot about this heart rate test, does anyon know what that is about? I use to be real athletic and in great condition but i have been slacking the last few years lol put on alittle weight and just been lazy lol. I went with the tuition program, and applied for my Twick card already, I have taken my class A written test and got my permit done. If anyone has any good advice could you please let me know. Thanks

After I sent a Qcomm that I now know how Roehl is going to reduce their driving force, they are going to route us over two lane mountain roads with heavy loads until enough newbie drivers went over the side to reduce their driving force, they give me a lot more slack when I want to change routes. This was after they sent me a route from KC to southeast of Little Rock via US 67. That is two lane road through the middle of the Ozarks, when we could have just as easily gone down I-540 to I-40. Another dispatcher called and rerouted me 150 miles out of route to avoid 67, I pointed out that as much as I hated their routing I wouldn't have gone that far out of route to avoid the mountains. Now I just send a message- If this was my truck, this is the route I would take. I give them the reasons and the fuel stop I would use and I don't get anymore argument.

The heart rate test is for when you do your pre work screening. You will have a certain number of things do to. Like lifting so much weight and carrying it a certain distance. After each part they check your heart rate and it can not go over the maximum for your age.

I seem to be getting longer runs .... the wait between loads seems to be getting longer as well as more than enough time to make the delivery or pickup which results in waiting at a truck stop if I can't deliver early ..... had a routing sending me on OK 7 .... that is a restricted route ..... so I just plan my own route from that point and notified dispatch after I made the delivery ..... then today, I didn't realize that I64 in St Louis is closed # I170 until Dec 7 ..... I notified dispatch so they can make note of it ..... my accountant has got me putting extra money away for taxes because of the per diem bs .... if I don't go o/o in jan or feb I'll need to rethink my decision to stay with Roehl ..... pay check is small as it is with out having to put extra aside for taxes ...... makes me wonder if I should have gone with Crete ..... my friends there seem to be doing well ..... hope everyone else is doing well

Your dispatcher probably knew already. It hasn't been open since I've been driving.

Grc56 hi. I think you will like 7/4 7/3, the miles will be close to company avg if freight is there. the nice part is you know when you will be home. For me its watching
late models run at the local dirt track. the bad part, which im sure you already are aware of is slip seating and the week you launch on a wednesday. But being home on a consistant basis is well worth it.

With the recent combining of refridgerated and van
maybe they can keep us busy all seven days we are out
with little waiting! yeah right , but would be nice! :yes2557:
    drive safe and have fun!
