Well I have been to all 48 states with Roehl and to Canada a number of times. Benefits I think may be referring to the bonuses which up to the time I left were a figment of ones imagination. They were bringing on new students every week and every time we made it to a terminal there was a group of drivers in their orientation classes. Since I don't see their books, I can't say what percentage of their school's income contributes to their profit. Can't see how it can hurt them though. No one said you are a nobody. I've talk to some drivers (yeah I know there are suppose to be 1300 drivers there) while there and most did not care for the health coverage. We were a team and kept in contact with the other teams and we all were unhappy of the way we were being ran. At one point all but 3 van teams were left and we were one of 3 refeers. I keep seeing posts from some that state that we are a minority of drivers (or ex-drivers) that were unhappy there out of 1300. (That number keeps getting thrown around for some reason. I guess to impress someone.) Until every driver has a computer and is a member of this forum and posts their experiences good, bad or indifferent then it's sad when those who don't jump up and down for joy with Roehl gets pummeled and ridiculed. Until you are faced with the same situation others have had you don't know how you will react. Bottom line is I thought posting here was to let others know different experiences and they can choose for themselves if the company seems like one they would want to apply to.

Agreed. OTR companies have a common thread. All or them; don't care about the driver. Actually most companies in American have that ideal. No more are workers appreciated. Workers are reduced to just a number.

And i am willing to bet you that more than half of the goods in this economy are moved by truck ...yet the truck driver is at the bottom of the totem pole..no respect...and its reflected in pay and all the free time yu have to give, no detention pay etc...this industry is a joke !!!!

Hmmm. You do not sound like a fellow driver….perhaps a recruiter for Roehl? :biggrin_2551:

I had been with Roehl over 2 years myself, and I can probably can complain about the same things everyone else does. There are many nice features in working for Roehl, and training with Roehl, but there is an ugly side as well.

It is only normal that human memory tends to remember those negative moments and situations more than a pleasant once. So please do not tell drivers to stop complaining. Complaning online is educational and recreational. Btw more posts are on the company, means less time drivers spend driving, and more free time to type on forums, and explore the wonderful world of truck stops

Capitalism is about exploitation of general mass by the group of chosen few, and we are part of it, being on the very bottom of the transportation industry food chain. So few complains here and there, are the signals of warning to the people who perhaps should listen more carefully, and to the unfortunate peasants who due to financial strain desire to enter into world of truck driving.
