If you dont get 4000 miles or more for your 11 days out. You might see if they will let you go regional. It is less money per mile. But if your getting 4000 or under. Your just sitting in truck anyway. They will atleast get you 2000 a week running regonial. I left Roehl to drive for Barr-Nunn.They pay regional drivers .35 a mile with 8 months exp. I found that 11 days stuff just isn't worth it. I have enjoyed reading about your journey into trucking!

I will need to figure how many extra "deductions" I need to do to get more take home pay, and minimize my refund.

That is if I ever get a frikken job! :biggrin_25523:

Does anyone know how the miles are adding up on average for Roehl's refer van fleet?

What division or type of trailer do you pull for Roehl? I talked with the Roehl recruiter on Monday and she said I may be able to go to orientation in GA, that would suit me much better than going up north in the winter.
Another question if you don't mind is does Roehl allow inverters (or converters, not sure which it is) in there trucks?

Yes they allow inverters. Trucks with a.p.u.'s have them installed already, but if you get a truck that doesn't have an a.p.u. you can have them install an inverter if it's the type that needs to be wired into the battery. (You have to pay for the installation too.)

    RollNRock65 Thanks this.

RollnRock65 if you wanted to go flat with Roehl out of Atlanta they don't do NE much. Mostly West of Mississippi. Less traffic etc.

I am in the national van division .... I have been staying out from 18 to as many as 25 days .... I had requested to transfer to the 7 3/4 hometime fleet but am assuming I have been turned down that opportunity since the hometime fleet mgr has not returned any of my calls ..... so I will be staying out 11 days which gives me 3 days at home ..... this schedule will allow me maximum hometime to assist my wife with matters that need my assistance ......

grc56_tn, are you based out of GA? The recruiter said I could possibly go to orientation there which would be much better to me this time of year. I can deal with the cold but that does not mean I have to like it. I am thinking that I would like to pull a refer that way it would be a little more flexible than a flatbed or dry van. If a load has to stay cold or not it can still go in a refer.
