I noticed that pilot's do a good job most of 'em, most of the time. Clean and ready. If you are OTR you may find getting into one is a bit sticky, central ohio and west, always busy. I used to carry the wipes and handwash, showering in the morning there is less waiting. You can pick up a toilet seat at a camping supply to keep in the truck, do it you'll be glad you did. drive55

I don't know what Pilot showers these guys are talking about but I think all Pilots suck. I shower at the Flying J and only the Flying J. If I'm desperate I'll take a baby wipe shower. Thank god most of our fuel stops are Flying J's, so I never really have trouble with this issue.

The only pilot that I can remember with horrible showers is Johhny's, ex 12 I78 NJ (now a pilot). They were terrible, but all the others I've been too have been fine.
And as far as nothing being free, with your 50 gal diesel purchase (some truckstops its 75 gals) you get a free shower, the trick is to stop at the same chain you tend to fuel at, or make a longer stop in the middle of the morning, and get your fuel, park and shower.

I bought a "potfor" from The Sports Authority after I had been driving a few weeks. it's nothing more than a 4.5 gallon bucket with a removeable toilet seat on top. set me back about $15 or so. I guess you could put the lid on a larger 5 gallon bucket if you have long legs. anyhoo - layer 3 plastic grocery bags inside, folded over the outside, and put a few crumpled up newspapers in (usually, the "right now" sh*ts are the runny/chunky variety,) do what you have to do and then toss the bag into the nearest trash can. I've only used mine about 4 times in 2 years. but when you're out in the middle of nowhere at a shipper or receiver, and it's 10 degrees outside, don't tell me "oooooh, I couldn't GO in one of those!!" trust me, you'll be GLAD it's there. unless you'd rather #### your britches.

on the showers, every one I've ever used (Pilot and Flying J) have been clean. except for the Pilot in Brunswick, GA where there was a little bit of pee pee on the toilet seat. yes, I do wear adidas sandals in the shower just in case. I also get fuel every day, either at a Pilot or Flying J. that way, I have a shower credit to use every day and can use depending on which one is on my trip. I've only paid for a shower one time simply because I couldn't get my load on time and therefore couldn't get home that evening. and there just happened to be a truck stop with 2 showers at the end of the road from the shipper, not on our fuel list though. $9.00 is usually the charge if you don't buy fuel.
