Have been seriously contemplating buying my own flatbed here the last couple weeks. I love my Revolution trailer, and want to stick with it's design. Unfortunatley I was informed by our sales rep that Fontaine does not offer a lift-axle for it. Now I know I can do a poor-man lift with a chain and so-on, but I'd really like one to be done professionally.
My question is, have any of you ever added a lift axle to a trailer? I know it can be done, and was just wondering on the costs involved. I'm talking to a MAC dealer who already has one in stock and ready to go, but I don't get much of a discount thru them (almost $9,000 more than the Fontaine).....
Another option is to buy a Fontaine SD with a fixed spread and a lift axle for the rear, but then I'm at the $9,000 premium of the MAC. I figured if I could save the $9,000 on the Revolution, that would leave me with that $$ available to maybe add a Roll-Tite system if I so desired (can still fit Hummers inside it) but it will limit my OS loads a bit.....

Hendrickson offers an air lif kit, that works with the suspension that is on the Revolution. I think it is about $1500. Or you can do what I did on mine.
MackDaddyMark, CAXPT, The Challenger and 3 others Thank this. -
I run it with a simple 1/2 inch breaker bar from the side. I don't need to go under the trailer to make it work.schmud0811, DEMO, SHC and 5 others Thank this. -
Did the hubby make that set-up???? I know you said he stays home now and makes stuff. If so, he should pattent that and sell it, That is very nice !!!
