Lightest 53 footer

My brother has a 2015 Doonan 53 ft combo step deck with a fixed spread axel that weighs approximately 9500.

 

I recently saw an ad on truckpaper for an Extreme 53' at around 8500 lbs

 

Had a Western Trailer 48 with 2 60 inch boxes, chain and dunnage racks, coil package and a few other add ons.
Factory weight tag said 8800 as equipped.
Currently have a Fontaine 53 combo step. Has one box and dunnage trays, fixed spread. The factory weight tag says 10300.

 

Extreme 53’ with slider BOL said 9212 lbs. didn’t really believe it but after weight it it’s lighter than my 48’ Rietnhour was.

 

How do you like that extreme trailer? Worth the money?

 

Still to early to tell but so far it’s been slightly better than mediocre.

Your new trailer holding up as well as you’ll hoped? Did we ever learn the weight of that thing?

 

Everything is good so far. Loving it. Very close to 9000 lbs for an empty weight. That part I’m really loving.
