interested in any ideas on speccing a a truck for being lighter. Here's the specs I am going to get, midroof sleeper truck 70 to 76 inch midroof sleeper single bunk, 430 hp 2.47 overdrive gears with 18 spd or auto 12, 13 liter engine, 265 to 280 wb to haul 62 ft material. Open to any brand but international, looking to order my next truck from dealer new. Will have stationary 5th wheel. I haul a 53 ft alluminum flatbed with a 10ft spread axle setup, am at 76k gross average, I drive fast 70 to 75 mph just looking to get 7.5 mpg, and keep whole setup under 31.5k lb unladen. Any insight is appreciated thank you in advance

What's the flat weigh? Not sure what the lightest truck from the factory is? I see lots of tank companies running macks with mid roofs. I know they used to be one of the lighter trucks.

With a 242in wb 48 flat top and 18 speed 1999 CH and a 53 Hyundai box I'm 32.6 with full tanks. And same setup with 93 mid roof ch and full tanks (150s) 32.4

    Seen a '99 378, 36" flattop, c12, rtx14609, on tall 24.5. Chassis weight 15974. Got my attention!! LoL

    Edit. Make that a '98 379 short hood, 48" bunk & 15925lb . LoL
Had a Detroit in there I might be taking out my checkbook.
Price is pretty atrocious considering I see no mention of an inframe, & she's huff'n pretty good out the ccv, & oil fill tube. Still, dang lightweight..

The 99 came from MCO. They have rocks in their head asking 35. I'd rather see how rusty it was than cheap paint. Be a good puller with 4.33 right around 1600 at 65.

Op check out macks with MP7 you should be able find weight specs. 425/1560. The couple of people i know that drove 405 and 425 said they pull really good.
