Linear amp vs preamp for my CB

Those little RM amps aren't bad for the price I have a blue one with the preamp. To be honest preamp is useless on Cb. All it ever did amplify the noise but on ssb its a different story. I've talked to people on all 4 corners of the US and Canada with that little RM amp from my house near Nashville TN sitting in my driveway on 38 lsb. Just running a Superstar 158edx, RM amp and a predator 10k antenna. I had that little amp in the house in line with my galaxy satern and super penetrator antena and herd a guy from South Africa talking but I never could make it back across the pond to him lol.
