Impressive. Is that a free standing tower? I can't see any guy wires.
-
It is...But I went ahead and added 3 guy wires just to be on the safe-side since we get some nasty storms in North Texas. So far the worst storm it's been threw since it's been up, only had about 75-80mph wind gusts, and it handled that just fine...
The wire is super thin, and has a black-plastic coating which makes it almost invisible at a distance. It's rated at 1200 pound breaking strength, and no heavier than the tower itself is, that should be more than sufficient.

I hadn't seen guy wire like that before. That's a good idea! You have a nice set-up there. Enjoyed the videos!!

I tried that cbricks forum but registration is down and tried emailing them and got an error saying email couldn't be sent to that address so not sure what's up with that site. Anyone know of any other forums I could ask on to see if I can lower dk from a pot on the board for my cobra 29lx. Also Jessejames very impressive setup and videos thanks for sharing. I wish I could get out on some skip with me setup.
-
Yeah, I have read others posts on signing up at cbtricks forum, and they said they couldn't either...I also read where the forum is closed to anymore new members, but wasn't sure...
As for another site... If you sign up on CBRT (cbradiotalk.com) There's a member there that go's by "The CB Doctor" who is a retired CB Tech...He closed his shop but is willing to help guys out on questions like yours...You may want to join the site and shoot him a private message...Just tell him what you have, and he'll get ya fixed up...
I'm sure there's others here on this forum who could do the same thing, I just don't know any of them.

Seems to be working just fine now........... -
If you didn't post the video I wouldn't have believed it. It's never worked for me. Thanks !!!jessejamesdallas Thanks this.

In all fairness...It's not something that happens every day. Although last week you could set your watch by it!. West Coast would start dieing out around 5:00/5:30ish, then right about dark the east coast down around Florida would start kicking in, then move right up the eastern seaboard...Finally dieing about about 9:30pm....
Like I said tho, sometimes it sticks around way up in the morning hours.WisconsinF150 Thanks this. -
Thanks for not being a jerk when you proved me wrong.
It's too bad so many truckers aren't even aware of what they're missing out on when they have a radio that doesn't have SSB.jessejamesdallas Thanks this.
