Read my original post which you just quoted.

I specifically said page 109 to 112. There is an addendum specifying much lower pay rates for a line-haul drivers. Since I'm looking at linehaul NOT an otr position that concerns me.

That's for LTL linehaul trust me. They call their linehaul drivers "road drivers"

If you like home daily and getting paid for all your time linehaul is where its at. Been doing it 20 years. It's my retirement job. I work as little as possible...

I was trying to get on over there as a city or linehaul driver, but the terminal manager said there were no openings apart from a part-time dock position. Yeah, burn up a bunch of money in a move for a part-time position when I've got a truck and medical bill payments.
But at the same time, the M-F thing kills it again for me. At this point, I'm not sure I'm finding any viable, lateral escape route apart from bounce from the whole mess for good.

Where are you getting the idea that linehaul drivers are paid for all their time?

They certainly don’t get paid waiting for the snail coming from the other end on a relay run, for starters.

I get paid for every minute of waiting time whether highway is closed for any reason or waiting on delayed switch. Compensating drivers for their time is how a company retains their employees. I've had this run 22 years. Qualifications when i hired were 7 years highway experience with 2 years pulling trains. No newbies need apply

Does your outfit still have those requirements?

I doubt if there is a single freight line anymore down here who has anything close to that.

...i drive for a o/o , so i'm not a CFL employee per say.. But i still fall under there rules and regs. Don't know if that would work for you ' cause no benefits come with it. But on the flip side , it pays better than most local jobs around here. I do know that it does get you into the door if you decide to go company when a position opens.

If taxes are taken out like a regular, W2, then of course I would. At the same time though, I might go ahead and either reapply with ODFL in ABQ and try to sweet talk my way back in there after going dark on them. Or try out another terminal closer to the activities I partake in.
I'm starting to think if my days off will be iffy at first, it would be nice to live in an area where I won't have to drive for several hours just to get to something cool to do.
Nothing kills time off quicker than endless hours spent behind another wheel.
