And you should know that the people who do the hiring for those executive positions, do not always hire the smartest tool in the shed. This does come down to the company that purchased link because4 as the new owners, they do have the choice of keeping the same personnel that got the company in the position they were in or they could go with all new personnel. That is why I made the comment that they would never merge or aquire Castro-Bain. That company was started by three r4eal truck drivers with over 60 years driving experience and over 30 years of management experience. They know what the problems are and how to solve them. They would rock the boat majorly and you know this "good ol boy" network will never allow that. They will never allow anyone with the right product to get into this industry and change the way things are done for the beter and bring the Trucking industry into the 21st Century. They are still stuck in the 19th century thinking they are RailRoad Moguls who control everything.

All the new owners are concerned about is how much they make on their investment. Nothing else.
-
But are they concerned about the short term profits or the long term reputatin and larger profits? That is the most important quesiton. If they are truly interested in a long term profit stream and a very prestigous reputation, then th emerger would give them that and much more. Some of what they would get could never be measure in actual dollar amounts.

Yup, unfortunately you always have to protect yourself from the company now too. When things go sideways its always nice to have a few notes with dates, times, places and persons involved to back you up. Better to be prepared...
-
Isn't that a good thing? Don't you want your company to make a profit? Hopefully in doing so they will use the "trickle down economics" that our US Congress is always talking about. If the investor(s) is making money, aren't they more likely to invest more money to make more of a profit? And if they see their investment doing well, aren't they more likely to make capital investments to increase their profitabillity? Some times it takes a long time for the money to get to our pockets ( the driver) but eventually it will get there... its gotta I say, just gotta.
-
It is not whether ornot they get a profit. A profit is always a good thing. It is a matter of what they are looking at. Are they just interested in sort term gains or "A quick Buck" then get out, or are they in the investment for the long haul. If they are in it for the long haul and the company they just purchased was not doing that well, then why keep the same personnel in place? "If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got!" Trickle down economics does work for the country, however, for business that is only part of the issue. It is also an issue of retaining and attracting the best and the brightest new talent you can and keeping what you got that is good. That is where a lot of companies fall short or just do not know how to truly sell their product to drivers well.
-
You would think that would be the case until you look at the equipment they have. Promise after promise of new trucks and where are they? I was told in March they were getting new trucks in April. That changed to May, then June, then... Her it is in August and they did get new trucks. 5 of them for a dedicated fleet in Illinois. Drivers were told 50 fleet wide. Where are they?
The new trailers they brag about were bought last year. Where are the trucks? Most every truck except the 25 they bought are floating at 800,000 miles. You figure they would try and save money from all the breakdowns, but nope. They remind me of PST days before the US Xpress take over. PST did the exact same thing. -
The investment company is known for short term investments. They have various companies they have "helped out" and the companies were later torn apart and/or sold to another company for profit. These are the times of today. My last company was bought by a larger firm and was shut down two years later. This one has a lot of the same characteristics. Cheap freight, cheap pay, cheap everything and nickel/diming everything.
I know what their freight is paying. I saw an invoice because dm printed off wrong sheet and gave it to me. Their freight is really cheap freight. Sad because they have potential, but I don't see them making the needed changes to really compete with the larger companies like they want. I just don't see them doing it in the next year or two like they need. Because of that, they won't keep drivers. -
