My husband just quit Link Americao on Nov 8, 2011. He went to work for them in July and has just broken 5000.00 gross. His truck was always broke down also, He started in July 2011 as I stated above but from then till Nov. 2011 he had like 5 different trucks. Also cause he didnt work there for a period of time they took out all his fees for them hiring him, such as the drug testing and orientation etc... His Check today is going to be 30.00 and change. He never made had a paycheck tht was 500.00, was always less than 500 a week!!! We are on foodstamps cause of them and I have had to get help for Christmas coming up for our 2 sons!!! I am not proud of having to get help but just letting you know they do not like for their drivers to make money!!!!! Please do not go to work for this company, you would make more money gathering scrap metal and selling it!!!!!!

 

Same thing just happened to my husband, he worked there 4 months and they kept all that too!!! His last check is today and it is ONLY 30.00 and change!!!! UGHHHH His checks always sucked anyway!!! He never brought home a check that was over 500.00!! We are on foodstamps cause of them IDIOTS!!!!!!

I did post on this company before, they bought out the company I worked for"wich I neve had a problem making a paycheck with" stayed with link another 3 years. don't no why I stayed that long.... Every year I made less and less with more problems. I got a 2009 Frtliner but it was no better than the piece of junk I had before it. One of the main reasons I left the company is because the in house work they do on there trucks with a so called certifiedmechsnic... Lol what a joke...
Please unless u are very desperate do not go to this company.
You will regret it from the day you step in orientation

 

An example of how the company operates...
Think it was 2009 when the market went south anyways we took a 5% cut in pay. "suppost to be 5% and suppost to be across the board"
then took bonuses " ALL OF THEM"
So went from 1000 week to 750 take home.
No problem could live on that if truck ran" wich is another story itself"
6 months down the line I see advertisement for .35cpm up to .40
For new hires. everyone that took a paycut and stayed believing we would get it back, believing in the company we worked so hard for, just to find out that..... ME 5 years exp @ .32cpm no tickets,acc. Nothing not even log violations, new hires .35cpm w/ bonuses for 2 years exp.... REALLY WHAT THE
I did call recruiting they were so tongue tired it made me sick I new I was done with the company from there. Don't no why I stayed so long after that just kept going downhill.
I hate starting over a most do. Not that medical was any better than the trucks u ran

 

Lane freight equipment is a different story. And your posting day cabs.

And the truck with the missing bumper... blame the driver. Its not like the company walked out there and kicked it off...
Btw the day cabs down here in Lakeland are brand new International and Cascadias

Link america does have a form in orientation that you sign stating you will pay back there orientation expenses if you do not complete 6 months with them. Your husband signed it, so honestly there is no reason to get upset at them for actually holding the $

You didn't meet there hiring standard so naturally there not going to reimburse you for travel expenses. Standard practice for every company....
