I had other drivers here tell me that they got good miles, but ran overnight to get them. I sometimes prefer it with less traffic.

Well, interesting weekend. I left home Sunday morning, got 2 zephyrhills about 10am. Drop & hook as usual. I always run down to dade city flying J to scale for good reason. Gross weight was 80,280 with a quarter tank. Not a big deal as my APU gives me a 400 lb weight exemption. The problem was 41,000 on the trailer. Again, not a big deal if I was staying in Florida, however the load was going to Atlanta. So I stretched the trailer nearly full out, still 35,xxx on trailer. I made the decision not to do it. I called dispatch and that's when #### hit the fan. Im not saying any names, but I will say weekend dispatch is extremely incompetent and useless. I was given the whole speech "find a way around the scales". I made it very clear im not that guy and to find someone else. A little time passes and they say "we got a guy in Ocala with a lighter truck, head there". Ok sure, I can do that. I get there, a nice big red KW.... I knew instantly it wasn't going to happen. He also proceeds to tell me he has full tanks. So he weighs, sure enough 80,400 even. Well, scratch that plan. So he takes off with his original load and here I wait. Then they tell me to go back to zephyrhills for a rework. I do, I get into a dock, get a green light after a while, pull out only to see they turned the pallets sideways so the load could move forward a few inches. They refuse to take any product off as the paper clearly states we are contracted to haul 46,678 lbs. So after more bickering, they have me drop it at the Lakeland yard. Pretty sure I pissed off the weekend planner as my next load didn't pickup until noon today. I had 5 hours available when I dropped the load at 1900 yesterday. My DM is making it up though as I got a preloaded trailer waiting in the morning.

I also found it humorous that Davis Transfer is toting around some of our old Washita trailers... yet they have a recruiting sign pointed right at our building.

Curious..............
if you had stretched the trailer all the way out,
do you think it would be 34K or less ?
Only 1 state scale to worry about, right. -
No, I had probably 2 or 3 holes left. I knew with the original weigh it wouldn't matter. I weighed it stretched out just to prove it wasn't going to matter what I did. At any rate, it still doesn't meet bridge in either GA or FL. So still no go.

Some poor guy coming out of orientation will get it...
I delivered in Bessemer, AL. I nearly ripped security there out of his shack to whip him
. He does not like Link. They "ruined" his driving career because they would not let him retake dirty drug test. I pull up and he tells me I have to park twenty feet from entrance. So I did. Then he tells me I need to be no more than six inches from curb. I get close. He walks out with a tape measure. I grab my tire thumper and start hitting the tires, hard. He gets the point I'm not playing around anymore. He goes to his shack and asks for paperwork. I hold it out and he stares at me. I point to sign that says no drivers allowed in guard shack and state rules are rules. He finally checks me in after sitting there for twenty min of me blocking the entrance. I tell the people inside and they saidnext time follow his rules. Lol. There is no next time. I'm refusing any load going there. When I left, security said not one word. Then again I had my tire thumper in my hands...
Reloaded in Hop Hull, AL going to Tampa. -
Lol, I love those bitter people.
I picked up a preloaded trailer this morning in ATL with a 0400 appt in Lakeland. Got a p/p after that picking up in Tampa at 11am with a 0500 appt in Dacula, GA Thursday morning.
I pissed off the people at the Eagle truck wash this morning. Sorry, but I am not giving a tip to 6 people washing my truck. Period. -
Ugh... What a bad day yesterday. Picked up in Tampa, loose paper from Tribune for Dublin. Weighed and grossed at 102000. It was a d/h and I struggled getting under trailer and learned why. Tires all looked low so I gauged them and all were ovet. Took load back and off loaded some. After reweigh still at 92000. Took it to Largo for full off load and reload. Weigh again and 81900. After fourth time, load weighed 76400. All I got paid for that entire day is one drop pay. I get to Dublin this morning, unloaded, reloaded in Savannah and going home. Deliver Kissimmee tonight.
Looks like I'll finish week with 1833 miles. Not happy.. -
Which tribune? Downtown or by brandon?. That's insane I've never had anything grossed over 77000 from the tribune.

Finished up in winter haven this morning. Got my preplan Sunday going to Atlanta. Home until then. I was home a total of 4 nights this week (Monday, last night, tonight and tomorrow night)mileage has been slow, I finished with 2133. I was offered a preplan to jax and deadhead back I declined.
