Preplan canceled. Truck went in shop. It's OOS. I was assigned a day cab to use to del load tonight. Truck won't be ready until Monday afternoon at the earliest so I get a paid weekend at home since no slip seats are available...
-
Im sure i'll see you there. Im dropping a load there at the yard in about 3 hours.
-
Finished with 2904 miles 5 1/2 days. Kinda angry their was no loads available. I was at bottom of barrel for loads considering I decided this morning I wanted to run this weekend. But everyone was planned up and im off till Sunday. I would have been well over 3000 this week if i gave more notice.
Picking up Sunday in Tampa going to Austell, GA -
I have 2647 and truck went into shop. It's getting motor mounts, seals on injectors, new oil line for turbo, and recall repaired. I'm home until at least Tuesday afternoon because there are no slip seats available. DM said she will give me shop time for those days since I am not here for home time, but available for dispatch if slip does come available. Maybe I can fix my car that I put off for so long...

Ok, I'm back... Let me start off by saying that the weekend dispatch here at Link SUCKS!!!! They don't have a clue and could careless about your hrs...
My DM quit so I'm stuck with two DM's from corporate..When I had Melinda as my DM everything was smooth sailing. Just as I got my new DM trained to my liking HE QUITS!!! Now I'm dealing with Dumb and Dumber..I would love to have Melinda back or at least someone on her level.
Now let me explain why I went off. Before my DM quit he called me and told me that Link got major loads to run out west but short of drivers and they are going to start sending southeast drivers out west and up north..That's right up north like Chicago. So lowand behold I get a p/p to take to TX. To make a long story short I didn't go to TX. But they did attach Louisana and Mississippi to my Southeast runs. In which I don't mind running LA and MS but Texas,Colorado, Oklahoma and all them states out west I'm not running. I didn't sign up for OTR... I signed up for Southeast..I called John Simone and Josh and they made sure that I stay Southeast cuz I told them to find me a load to Lakeland cuz I'm not running west..I'm glad my DM gave me the heads up b4 they tried me with that TX load..
So Southeast drivers get ready to run OTR. They have new contracts with Kimberly/Clark, P&G and Home Depot to run loads out west and up north.. -
Are they wanting you to go out and stay that way for periods of time or just out and back type runs??? A round trip to SoCal could make a good paycheck!!! Even Tx and back east... P&G, Home Depot runs are gravy when I was with a company that did them too!! Hmmm.... might be worth looking Links way after all!!
-
@Jlind, from what I'm hearing from other drivers that I know they sent out west is they try to keep you out there because that's where the majority of Link freight is going. I got a friend that I referover to Link and he volunteered to go out west and when he ask to come back to the southeast they gave him a hard time. So if you wanna run west just be perpared to stay out there..
This week they ran me like this:
Miami, FL to Natchez, Mississippi
Natchez,Mississippi to Lafayette, LA
Lafayette, LA to Neely Landing, MO
Neely Landing, MO to Miami,FL -
They have been itching for SW and midwest drivers for a while. If you put your foot down they wont send you out there. I do expect to see a OTR division soon.
-
What's good Anj8488, they are very short of drivers for SW and midwest and they got plenty of loads going out there. They not going to get drivers in that area because of the pay here. Well I put my foot down so far as I go is Lafayette, LA and back. Because now Louisana and Mississippi is apart of our Southeast run..
As far as an OTR division coming soon, it's already here. The new drivers there hiring now is already going to Chicago. I heard one new driver took a load to Colorodo..
