Yuppers! I've heard that about Link America. Like so many "deceptive" companies (JB Hunt being the WORST!), they put ads out there, some without their name, that sound too good to be true... and it is! It's a sad truth that a lot of these type of companies have to resort to deception to get responses.
Oh well, you're better off knowing now, instead of later!![]()

What I don't understand is why the dramatic difference in pay from SW regional to SE regional. At .305 a mile for SE regional your bring home is around 550 a week running avg. 2000 miles a week. That's 28.5 k take a year. Compared to SW at .37 a mile avg. 2300 miles a week. That's 790 a week take home or around 41k take home per year. Sounds like those SE guys are paying for those shiny new trucks that they don't own.
What's with companies using new trucks as advertising tool....as long as I am paid well and my truck is dot compliant let's grab a gear and go! -
I wonder if link will actually start giving road tests during orientation if I was a SE regional driver I would demand it considering they are paying for the new trucks. When I went through links orientation they did not actually give u a road test just wrote on the evaluation form that u passed

it is legal for a company to accept your CDL in leiu (sp?) of a road test....i agree they should give em....just cuz u have a cdl doesnt mean you can drive.... -
Man, its ###### if we do, ###### if we don't. We get heat for having old equipment and then even worse for getting new equipment. The raises for the SE have been brought up numerous times and are being promised to go in effect real soon. Truckenstein, your theories once again are false. For you to say the SE doesn't get as much pay as SW because of new equipment is way off. The SW received more newer equipment than the SE did.

Update.
Wheels keep on turning, from the truck to the office.
All the new peterbilts have been issued. I love mine. Something about the smell of a new truck. The yard is full of trucks and trailers, but for good reasons. All of the washita and DGI trailers are being placed OOS as they come in. We have a nice pool of new trailers sitting in Jax at ups waiting to be brought down. Were moving out the old and bringing in the new. Waiting on the next round of trucks to come off the assembly line so we have a few penske rentals running around. Most of the washita freightliners are being grabbed and sold. Office staff is changing quite a bit. A few new faces in Lakeland terminal as they company is sorting by region. The way they are talking is that the SW drivers will have their own planners and DMs and same for SE but based out of their respective terminals that way we can all know each other by face and not calling Tulsa for guidance.
Miles wise... its trucking. ... im seeing around 2,000 a week over about 5 1/2 days so I can't complain much. -
Also just received a DOT audit review and have been placed back into satisfactory compliance level.
