DM job is somewhat challenging.
-
I don't agree with the micro managing of logs bit p&g is a natl account so their trying to be on the safe side.
They have you picking up at 20:00 and delivering at 23:59? 3 1/2 hr trip with a 4 hour window? -
Being a DM is like having your ### kicked day after day. Getting pulled in a million different directions at all times. It has its good days and it has its BAD days for sure.
-
Pick up at 2000, can't del until after 0001, must del by 2359 tomorrow. 24 hr window, 4 hrs after del, 180 mile loaded miles. See why I was waiting?
-
If I left at 1400 like DM wanted, I would have only 2 hrs to run and sit for several hrs. I waited, del at 0001, will have 5 hrs to run, little sitting.

Hairyflex I know. DMs get told to make us run plus do the other twenty jobs. Planners say deliver freight no matter what. DMs say miles miles miles. Safety says do it slow and safe and legal. We say we're trying, but roads are holding us back, DOT inspections, we're tired because DMs called while sleeping and I had to get back to sleep, people beating on doors all night, we're tired. Then management says profit profit profit. Everyone has different jobs and even though they work together, they don't. I do understand the issues in the office and if I was a deadbeat driver, but I'm not and told several times I'm one of the best on the board. Even Anj's dm likes me. So I'm not sure why I was spoken with like I was today...

do what i do. don't accept the load. call them and tell them u can't do the load because u don't have the hrs. I made up my mind that im not gonna let link america stress me out because they have incompotent pre-planners as well as dm's. i can only drive that truck with the amount of hrs given to me by D.O.T.
I picked up out of Publix Boyton Beach and after talking to Publix dispatch in the office, Link America is getting ready to loose that account because they not happy with LKAM service. I emailed Josh to let him know that they already got another trucking company in their hauling our back loads along with new loads and we on our way out. -
Big Brah, same here. I'm only one left from my orientation, too.
