Heading back to Conyers to drop this load in yard. Preplanned to pick up tomorrow morning in Atlanta going to Orlando for tomorrow evening. Will end week with 1207 miles. Yuck.

Recruiting gave me the green light, they gave me a choice of either Monday or Wednesday for orientation, I took Wednesday.

I was going to say something like "I hope I'm not making a mistake" but the fact that I won't be gone for weeks at a time anymore is more than enough reason, in my opinion, to jump ship.

I don't know how the local/regional drivers at my company survive, as little as they're paid. They get paid to wait at shippers, which is hourly minimum wage and it stops once you reach $40.00, and mileage. That means it doesn't matter how long you wait at a shipper, once you've waited long enough to reach the $40.00 mark, the rest of your time and labor is 100% free. Going 9 miles to Auburndale to pick up a load, sitting for 10+ hours, driving 9 miles back to drop it on the yard, and having that be all you do for the day...and there are a lot of days that are like that for those guys, or similar to it...you simply cannot earn a living.

Where at in McDonough? Any empties there? There are four trucks vulturing around my empty that's hooked to local. He was told to wait for me to give me the empty while he takes my loaded. These others are mad about it...

If it's truly your empty and you're not snaking it from anyone, let the others cry in their coffee cups all they want....

If they're keeping their available trucks across the street from the main building where the shop is, it looks like they have some volvos ready to go....
