List of companies with Autos

Marten Transport. Some of the newer Kenworth T-680s and Freightliner Cascadia Evolution models are autos,with manual models in the mix. I wanted a manual transmission in either a Freightliner or a KW after they sold the T-660 I drove but HQ said I had no choice and gave me an auto.

 

Schneider Intermodal is all auto's now.

The 3-4 manuals we do have left are being phased out within a year

 

Jordan Carriers had all autos when I was there. Don't know if they have switched back or not.

I wouldn't say I'm an old timer, but I do remember riding with my dad back in the pre deregulation days in an old twin stick needle nose pete. You could make the truck do anything you wanted it do. Including blowing itself up. Lots of things have gotten better over the years, but the drivers, in general, in my opinion anyway, aren't one of them.

 

Trimac out of Lansing, IL runs automatics as well

 

I heard back in the day...years ago...drivers were knights of the road....these days there are a few good guys but most are weirdos....freaks...psychos and probably a few serial killers in the mix...the rest... one would not hire to work Mc Donalds so they drive for Swift
