Why are most driver afraid for these roadside checks? Of course they waste out time but if your logbooks is up to date legally, your equipment is safe which it should be and your not driving like a moron than you should be okay. I have been pulled over 3 times in the past few. Months all for hazmat checks and inspections..lost 45-60minutes but found no violations all 3 times..made 100$ cuz company gives 100$ for clean inspections. Ill take that 100$ anyday. For 1 hr.. Shhhh!!!t ill do it again

Doubt it. He's getting the $100 from someone else. Also, most people like myself try to avoid the scales because of the nit picky bs hassle and time you eventually lose.
I got pulled into the scale 3 days ago after having a cap blow out and put a hole in one of my lines on the trailer. I showed the officer my receipt for the new tire I purchased 20 miles back up the road and told him I was heading to truckpro to grab a new line and he still put me out of service and made me bobtail the remaining 15 miles to get the line and fix it in the scale. It was futile to argue that there was nowhere to get a new line at or around the Loves who I had service the tire. Of course I'll receive a fine for this and it's total bs. And I was empty so it made me even that much more pissed! It's all a cash grab!

Depends on what day the Florida DOT gets bored. They can really put a hurting in the scales on any given day

    and dont get me wrong

i am not saying, because someone owns their truck, they should e allowed to drive unsafe equipment

its just a different ballgame when you bear all costs for every detail and DOT wants to play hardball
