You are 100% correct these 10 meter receivers are complete garbage from the factory. Again it is very unfortunate
that you haven't figured out a way to make these junky 10-meter radios a pleasure to use and listen to.
Fortunately someone else has and they are not willing to share their secrets but I'm perfectly willing to demonstrate how my radios work And hopefully someday you might figure it out.

By the way, increasing the receivers range from 10 miles to 45 miles would hardly be considered a marginal Improvement.

Something else I thought of was that if everybody had a receiver like mine there would be absolutely no need for linear or non-linear amplifiers ...
The world would be a much better place..

    Actually you are.

See my comment on the bottom.

I get that but that's not the point, it is far from it because it isn't important to me to know what you do. I tell others that people who talk like this seem to forget others' have done more with less before.

THIS IS YOUR ASSUMPTION NUMBER ONE.

THIS IS YOUR ASSUMPTION NUMBER TWO.

THIS IS YOUR ASSUMPTION NUMBER THREE.

    To answer your assumptions -

1 - it is unfortunate that you are assuming I haven't addressed this issue nor made any radios I own, worked on or sold work as you describe. I have. I am critical because there is more to it than just the front end of the radio, the IF strip and the detector stage all play a hand into how it preforms. It comes down to the same old design that has been commonly used in CB radios since the mid-70's has not changed.

2 - it is further bad to assume I and/or some others I know were not only the ones who initially found flaws in these radios but wrote or shared the information with others, one of whom may be your guy. This was in the day where there was no internet, where you talked to people directly and best of all showed them first hand, not through some youtube video. When a tech refuses to share with others, it is all about their job security, your tech is no different than others I've known in the past who were good but flawed.

3 - I've got a lot of radios to do well, come close or preform better. I have one right here and talked to one of my drivers who is sitting >30 miles away.

Not a difficult task talking to the driver from 30 miles from a base antenna high in the air from the comfort of your workbench.
If it is such a simple task to make 4 watt radios communicate with each other mobile to mobile at a distance of 45 miles
(with a big mountain in between I might add)
perhaps you might be in the wrong line of work and you might perhaps think about getting into the radio business since very few truck drivers have ever witnessed such a thing.
(unless of course if they happen to be someone I know and in which case we take it for granted)
I'm sure if you decided to open up a radio business you would have hundreds of thousands of truck drivers lined up outside your door waiting to shove hundreds of dollars down your throat.
( I'd be one of the first ones standing in line waiting to hand you money )
