    Tip for newbies:

If you like to drink and party, consider another career. This job isn't for you. The Smokey and the Bandit days have been long gone for a while, and virtually every company has zero tolerance to alcohol and illegal contraband.

    A warning:

You will have to take a urine test during orientation, and while you hold the job you are subsectable to random drug and alcohol testing. You will also need to take a urine test to get a medical cert. Even certain OTC meds are a no no.

Also Operating a CMV means having key turned on to keep truck running to keep you cool/warm in the bunk. Cop can say your operating it and bust you for being in bed. Best bet would not to drink. if you do want to drink. Get a hotel room to play it safe.

Have an accident in a commercial vehicle and you are drunk, they can charge you with attempted manslaughter!

Yes and I have seen it happen!

You can get the same charge if you falsify your logs, get in an accident and kill someone. Have seen that happen too!
