I am having a hell of a time finding a company to work with my "gappy" work history and questionable yet tolerable wet reckless in 2007, I have around 13 years of retail exp but not as of recent my last two jobs were for a seasonal retail box store. even though I was a GM there it only totaled 7 months out of the past three years. Before that I was a GM for a Cafe the barely stayed open 1 year but I was with them training and all for almost 2 years.. my wife decided to go to school in the medical field and I am now home with my son while she works full time, I need to flip that around pronto! does anyone know of a company that will hire wet behind the ears? I am 32, dedicated, motivated, with a lot of "drive" a good chunk of management under my belt, just want out of the retail environment and Life just hit my family and myself hard! any help will do right now.. Yes I have my CDL, tankers/Doubles/triples/ my Hazmat endorsment is currently being checked by TSA (I have no concerns with it, so I should have my Hazmat soon)
thanks,

The work history and reckless are the major problems. Another thing did you go to school or use someones truck for a road test? If school, how long since grad date?
-
Yes, did you attend a CDL school? If you did, a job should be no problem. If you didn't, it's going to be tough. Let us know.
-
How long ago did you get your CDL and have you ever used it?
-
Yes I went through a trucking school, I graduated from it the 10th of June. a good handful of companies said that my wet reckless was fine, that it was my work history that is killing me.

Try these companies; apply online:
Paschall Truck Lines
Carolina Cargo
Martin Enterprises of the Carolinas
Buel Inc. -
The reckless shouldn't be that much of an issue as it's over five years old, work history is usually workable. I agree with the others, a CDL school should help you out.

Oh, I also live in California. I know that makes a big difference because half of the companies I contacted don't hire this way. =/
