As a truckers wife I just cant keep my mouth shut on this one because
you have insulted my hubby and all the good drivers out there on the road working their tails off to keep the store shelves full etc. My husband has a high school education and a top secret security clearance from the united states army, commendations for excellent performance and he worked on the NikeHercules does that sound like someone with a 3rd grade education??![]()
There are lots of drivers out there that act stupid/ignorant but that in noway reflects their level of education only their short fuse and lack of manners. My grandfather was a trucker my dad was a gasoline hauler and I married a trucker(a car hauler to be exact), none of them are stupid by any strecth of the imagination.
Drivers have WAY TO MANY things to keep track of out there to be considered stupid.....loads, delivery times, directions, truck performance, driving conditions and 4wheelers that don't know how to drive around a big rig....I would love to see you and your 3rd grade education ideas get behind the wheel and drive a 73 foot rig thru the montains loaded with over a million dollars worth of freight in a freakin
snow storm!
live load unload.... what?

Just because you don't have a brain is no reason to assume that you will make it as a truck driver. -

One man flunked out of my class at truck driver school. He had a Masters Degree in English Literature.

Good copy Mack,I like your style, while it might be true a person with little education can drive a truck, but its all about how good you are at driving,no tickets, accidents, driver breakdowns due to misuse or negligence. Let us not forget, some of our smartest statesmen didn't finish school, also mechanics etc. Let's not put anybody down,i have tried to teach really educated just to shift and they learned very hard on my patience, the guy with little education did better because he was a mechanically inclined common sense person.
cybill234 Thanks this. -
Planning a long haul, with routes, & alternate routes due to bad weather, and keeping legal logs is 3rd grade education level???!!---what Wonderful Magnum school did he go too??!! I heard, considering facing heavy traffic in strange cities, etc., that Freight Ailine pilots would be stressed doing our job.....

Second, don't (notice the proper use of the word dont) insult an entire profession based on your preconceived notion that "it dont (notice the incorrect use of the word don't) take much of a brain to become a truck driver"
If you are going to attempt to insult someone's intelligence, you should at least be smart enough to use proper grammar and punctuation. -

Well I have a question pertaining to live load/unload, do you log off to save driving hours or log on to on duty not driving status etc? I have not had to do it so far so I wanted to know everyone's thoughts because I just do not see how it would work say if you had two live loads/unloads to do. Thanks in advance.
