Livestock hauling

If your thinking of pig haulin count for washouts after every load hotshots are expensive but well worth it you'll need a sorting board rattle paddle and shaker can I haul alot of pigs when the works there moneys fantastic but by no means believe your gonna buy a truck and bust into it and be wildly successful ask anyone that pulls a pot weve had to pay our dues weve missed meals and sleep chasing loads

 

I have a question on insurance and the trucker who hauls and loads livestock. What coverage does the trucker have if they are injured when loading or unloading the livestock? Is the rancher or broker who set up the haul responsible if the trucker gets hurt while looking after and loading/unloading the livestock? I know each state has different requirements on WC and some states do not require Workers Compensation for agricultural workers. I don't think a trucker would fall into the category of an agri/farm worker. Self-employed truckers can exempt themselves from Workers Compensation. Any comments are appreciated.

 

I have to ask, when hauling cows does the weight shift around allot?, I am guessing the cows can move around at least somewhat so how does this affect driving. Keep in mind I have not even started my cdl training yet so am pretty much clueless.

 

You forgot to include all the caffeine, monsters, meth and cocaine to keep that truck running 25 hours a day 8 days a week.

 

I'd do some company work first , i have a friend that hauls cows for JBS in Green Bay , not every driver is cut out for the job.

No not at all and not really planning to haul livestock. Just going to work on getting my cdl later this spring and asking questions. I saw the thread and was curious so thought I would ask.
