Thanks for the replies. Definitely feeling much better about planning on living in the truck. I just don't see how paying $650/mo is worth 3-4 days haha ... and that's assuming I never go anywhere besides my house on hometime. As for an address ill just use my parents.

I know you are thinking about be self efficient as a young trucker. Why waste that money renting a place when I can live out of the truck? It's a quick way to save money. I did it for two years and it does get old. But I saved my money. Do it while you gain experience and get settled in with a company.
Then try looking at it like this. Most likely you are going to buy a home one day. You definitely are going to get old. Why wait until you are crippled and can't work? The younger you are and buy your first house, the better off you will be when you are older. Buying a home is not throwing money away. Look at as putting money in the bank gaining good interest. Buy you can always sleep there. You can always sell it and get your money back plus some. Therefore you are living free in a way minus the up keep and taxes. Start small and work your way up. That way you always have a home to go to. Start now and by the time you are 55 your home will paid for. There isn't a better time to buy than right now. -
OP you are right. I am recently divorced (got rid of her) so my house just feels like a rest area that I visit once a month now. If it wasn't for my car being there I would probably stay gone for months. I have a UPS mailbox to get my mail and things that I like to order online. There is really no reason to have a house or apartment if you can handle being in a truck. My truck is comfy since I spent thousands of dollars on cool things to make my experience better so I have everything that I need in my truck to be happy.

Use a UPS store mailbox, or other mailbox service that GIVES YOU A STREET ADDRESS. Some states won't let you put a Post office PO box on your DL.
SAVE THE MONEY. Buy a house for cash when it comes time, or have a big down payment. Buying a house when you are single, and an OTR driver is a luxury, and you'll spend much of your off time keeping it up, doing maintenance....and you'll still have an empty house 90% of the time.
