I am looking at starting a trucking company under my own authority. I am in PA and plan to start out as an LLC. Looking for advise on putting my own address down as the LLC registered agent and using OOIDA as my process agent. Or should I just us OOIDA as my LLC agent as well? My wife is usually home during business hours to receive any LLC items.

Boc-3 is the easy to file, just have someone file it and its done. You have everything else set up for your authority?

If you join OOIDA, they do the BOC-3 for free.

I had a company do my LLC, because it was a quick turn around, and I thought I was in a hurry. In retrospect, you could easily do it yourself.

Yes, I am an OOIDA member and plan to have them do my boc-3. I guess my question is can I put my address down on the LLC paperwork as the registered agent for the LLC.

Yes. You can use your address. My LLC address is the same as my home address. If that's what you're asking.

I have had my CDL for 15 years now. I got out of driving because I didn’t like other people changing my schedule constantly. I did some OTR but mostly regional work, with some local work mixed in as well. I have worked in shipping and receiving, as a diesel mechanic, as a youth director, and a bus driver. I have worked part time as a driver since stepping away because I find that it must be in my blood to drive. I miss it. So here I am, looking into getting my own authority so that I can be in charge of my schedule. It will be much more work, but I think the payoff will be worth it, being my own boss. I have hopes that it will also become a family business that my family can join me in, once I get it off the ground.
