Also you gotta love all the new vehicles that now have low beams just as bright as their high beams.

I know - and I don't bother anymore. If they don't dim, I don't dim, although I dim first, I always do. It's frustrating, but it's the new norm. Just like no one has a CB on anymore, except us 'old guys'. Just another sign o' the times ...... I don't sweat it like I used to ..... life's to short ....

I'm adhering to bankers hours while driving now, 7am to 7pm, screw it.

That's another great thing about Australia, no time changes, same sunup and sundown year round.

F you, Canada. I don't even look forward to flying back next Christmas to visit my parents heh

I hear ya. I have an old Army friend in Aussie land. Used to bug me for years to come work with her on civie street doing train work. I visited twice. Both times went on runs to the bush. Her truck is on with Shell. She usually has only 3 trailers now. Now that I'm single again, I've thought about it ..... believe me ! LOL

I would do it man, i'm gonna try going down there almost next year. Half dozen guys I grew up with in Alberta here, have already called it quits, and headed down. My Brother is even thinking about doing it, cause outside of Trucking, there is next to nothing going on these days.

I love how trucking is so RESPECTED here...

I'm looking at a job hauling ore at a mine in the northern territory, fly in fly out, meals and accommodations paid, 14 on 14 off, STARTING at $80,000/year

AUD and CAD $ are pretty much on par and I'm only an hour away from Brisbane airport!

Takes a while to get used to 40c weather though.

    That is crap.
When I came here 10yrs ago, the company that employed me and many others paid .32cpm.
When they started taking on TFW's, because of the conditions in the, then, LMO's for TFW's, the rate was upped to .40cpm.
So, we, actually improved the wages significantly for the existing Canadian drivers.
