Boy o boy, aint that truth. I'm always the highest posted when i post and willing to pay for good carriers. Problem is good carriers are harder and harder to find these days.
-
You can be the highest posted and still fall well below a good carrier’s standard.Oxbow Thanks this.

you can pay "a good carrier's standard" and still get subpar service.
Cuts both ways. -
It can. But it can also be argued if you’re getting subpar service, you aren’t getting a “good carrier”.
Separating the wheat from the chaff is not a quick nor inexpensive method. -
Well its all about supply and demand. You can have all the standards in the world, but if their are 100 trucks and only 50 loads in an area, you have to be reasonable on the rates and somewhat flexible or your truck isnt going to move. Also, its commonly misunderstood that us brokers control all of the rates and we just always beat you carriers down and make 2000 on every load. Its actually the furthest thing from the truth and anyone who has worked on this side of the industry can tell you that. The buyer/customer dictates 90% of everything. They farm out the sourcing to us because they dont want to deal with 100 carriers each day and the absolute shenanigans that comes with it.
