I've seen people go out and get their own authority without any knowledge of how rates work. Their ignorance is part of what drives the rates down. -
Gravdigr, 3 thoughts for first starting out if you don't lease on with someone. 1) Unless you have the cash to float your receivables for 30 days and then the time to chase down the slow paying brokers, use a good non-recourse factoring company. They will do the research on the broker and you know you'll get paid fast. Costs for non-recourse can be up to 5%. 2) Many brokers won't touch you until you have your MC for 6, 12, 18 or 24 months so just be prepared for that. Too many scams with new MC numbers. They are also wary of old MC's that have been long inactive and recently reactivated for the same reason. 3) Once you get on ITS, they have so much training available on all their features, you'll learn everything you ever wanted to know about. The free webinars is how they get the chance to upsell you on their features.
