That rig is nice, but no big whup. I started out with a high miler to keep initial costs down, with the goal of upgrading within the year once I got my feet wet and acclimated to this owner operator thing. What you're looking at is the upgrade truck....

Thanks for you kind words. It's not a former Werner truck, but a Summit truck.

I dont use the boards much but I do browse them alot. LTL frieght is your friend. Half the trailer for 75% of the going truckload rate, then fill the second half of the traier with the same rate...easier said than done at times tho. BTW, $2.20/mile with ch robingsome is the exception to the rule. Nice work Rob!

Hope this isn't too far off topic...

When using these internet load boards, how do you get paid? Do you have to bill each company and deal with whether or not they pay you?

You invoice the broker that had the load you hauled. You sign a confirmation before taking the load that has all the load details. You can do a credit check on brokers, and that helps but I was told of a broker that went belly up one day after their credit score was 98 (out of 100).

    davenjeip Thanks this.

I've used Internet Truckstop for a few months and then switched to Member's Edge, the OOIDA version of Trucker's Edge. Same board, a couple bucks cheaper through OOIDA. I may be supplementing with Internet Truckstop in the near future.
