Tuckster.....I know these guys swear against us.....but, Prime has a good program for their O/O's....If you have your own authority....Prime pays 80% of the Gross....AND 100% of accessorial charges and 100% of the FSC. Not to mention the fact that O/O's also get the same fuel discounts that Company and L/O's get. And these numbers can really make a difference.
If you want to work off of Prime's authority.....You get 72% of the Gross...and the same on the rest of the numbers.......
In either case.....you pull thier trailers....and only pay for Reefer fuel. No charges for using their trailers.

I called Prime last week and they informed me i needed a tractor 2 years or newer.
also called wil-trans and they wanted 5 years or newer. -
Yeah that way your butt-hole deep in debt and have to haul anything they throw at you!!!
MrsSandman, 57104 - Ya Heard!, God Bless America and 6 others Thank this. -
That's why I get my own loads...Have to, "Old Bull" being a '97, is just not good enough for those "Big Guns" to sign on.
areelius Thanks this. -
You have to pay the reefer fuel on someone else's trailer.
Doesn't make sense to me.
-
If you have your own authority and a 53' dry van check the load boards at WERNER , C R ENGLAND , PRIME logistics and SNI.
They have loads posted in / out the Eastern seaboard , they all pay decent $ and have a mix of short and long runs. -
Why not? You are the one getting the revenue for the load. And you only pay what you use during the load. If the trailer isn't full when you pick it up....you get re-imbursed the amount you spend to fill it up....and if you fill it up when you drop it....then you only pay for what was used while you had it.
And if the unit breaks down.....you don't have to pay the bill....the company does. Makes sense to me..... -
Yeah totally agree. I wouldn't wanna pay for someone elses fuel. That should be company paid.
That's why we/hubby are flatbedders. Don't have to worry about that crap. -
That's the only way to go...tugging a skateboard that is....
-
totally agree. I was only driving for about 2 years when I jumped out. ((can't wait to get back in. totally long story)). I don't think I would wanna pull anything but a skateboard.
