I figured they changed the delivery info to give themselves cover “justification” for cancelling it.

I booked a load a couple of weeks ago. I knew the shipper was slammed with orders. I even called the plant 4 hours ahead of time to ensure they were going to have product and was assured they had it.

I showed up. Guess what? Due to excessive orders placed and "production line issues", they didn't have the product ready. Come back in the morning and we'll probably have it ready.

In the interim, broker offers me a load out of there where the product was ready. However, it wasn't where I wanted to go or for the price I wanted. Guess what? Broker says because they offered you another load and you're refusing it, no TONU for you! As if a funky $150 meant anything to me anyways.

    WHATEVER!...

What am I gonna do? Sue the broker for a $150 TONU? Turn him into the non-paying TONU board? Report him on the TTR Report Good and Bad Brokers Thread?

    WHATEVER!...

There's some battles that aren't worth fighting.

No offense, sir, it's just business ;-)

Wow, now that is dirty! I probably would have verbally assaulted him then added to the blacklist.

As the now deceased, Kenny Rogers sang:

You've got to know when to hold 'em know when to fold 'em,

Know when to walk away, know when to run.
You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table,
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done.

Upon some digging this Harpers Hot Shot trucking LLC is a 33 truck outfit with newer trucks. Not sure how small carriers can operate like this

The only punitive measures , I've seen so far are the broker's individual ratings, which is the case with bigger brokers. This, at some point, can result in being black listed. I guess the smaller brokers will simply remember you as not reliable and won't work with you if you crossed the line.

Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!! The weird thing is, the price you quoted him would have been the price any knowledgeable OO would have quoted. Sports market seems predatory anyway. They look for those green horns

They are just putting that there in the event a larger carrier utilizes them. That's unrealistic for them to expect a small fleet or single truck and trailer operation to find a replacement. When I worked for a small fleet, I had a trailer rejected at a roll stock shipper, and another time in Laredo, picking up for l'oreal. The brokers just put that load right back on the load board and probably had a replacement in minutes. I'd be surprised if they enforced that clause, especially since the one you were working with wasn't even aware of that clause.
