I've never had issues with any of those states and calif. The longer one has been in trucking the more they know the states, routes, their equipment and don't worry about the length laws.
-
I once made the dumb mistake of leaving OH with a light load fully extended in a 53' van. The plan was to stop at the Loves just before the scale, but for what ever reason I didn't. The length triggered the pre scale and got sent to sit on the scale. They came out and measured, said I had to be under 47'. The mistake cost me 45mins but the point is although the pre scale maybe smarter than we think, the LEO didn't even know IN has 43' limit.

If your dumb and just go by the atlas IN has no kingpin settings. Another reason NOT to use the atlas.TheDude1969 Thanks this.

Only thing I ever used atlas for was trip planning.I never looked at the king pin law.Every state is different Hows one suppose to please every state when u have so many to go thru..You shouldn't drive with tandems alll the way way back either.I've always had them locked I think fifth hole from the back and never had problems
