If a cop is going to give a securement ticket, the violation has to be listed. Giving grief means he doesn’t know or is too lazy to open the regs book.

Could be worse, I seen this today. While he might have been right at those straps capacity, it was crap. If he got in an accident that concrete mesh was coming forward into his day cab.

I’m looking at this without practical experience, just schooling. I thought the front load had to have three straps if over eight feet with no barrier at the front of the trailer? Don’t know for certain, could just be up north here

OldeSkool and Bean Jr. Thank this.

The linear rule is 2 for the first 10 feet and 1 for each ten foot of fraction after that. So 8-10 would require only 2. But I'm a believer that legal is safe. That doesn't look safe so it must not be legal.

@Carpenter Scotty, Mr Bean is dead on accurate.

You will see some quote it as “2 for the first 10ft and 1 at every 10ft.” Why would this be incorrect? If you don’t know, there’s nothing wrong with not knowing.

In Houston a couple of days ago I seen a hold load of crushed cars tied down with 4 in nylon straps. (No strap protectors anywhere)

Bean Jr., Lonesome and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
