If a cop is going to give a securement ticket, the violation has to be listed. Giving grief means he doesn’t know or is too lazy to open the regs book.classic_150, MACK E-6, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this.

I’ve seen lazy f*^%’s just use the rub rail as a hook for chain and scales doesn’t say a word, that’s SoCali for ya. They could be very relax on some securmentsOLDSKOOLERnWV, D.Tibbitt, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this.

Could be worse, I seen this today. While he might have been right at those straps capacity, it was crap. If he got in an accident that concrete mesh was coming forward into his day cab.OLDSKOOLERnWV, D.Tibbitt, TripleSix and 2 others Thank this. -
I’m looking at this without practical experience, just schooling. I thought the front load had to have three straps if over eight feet with no barrier at the front of the trailer? Don’t know for certain, could just be up north here

The linear rule is 2 for the first 10 feet and 1 for each ten foot of fraction after that. So 8-10 would require only 2. But I'm a believer that legal is safe. That doesn't look safe so it must not be legal.

Thanks for that, I am wrong, need to check my homework
Bean Jr., D.Tibbitt and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
@Carpenter Scotty, Mr Bean is dead on accurate.
You will see some quote it as “2 for the first 10ft and 1 at every 10ft.” Why would this be incorrect? If you don’t know, there’s nothing wrong with not knowing.Diesel Dave, Lonesome, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
In Houston a couple of days ago I seen a hold load of crushed cars tied down with 4 in nylon straps. (No strap protectors anywhere)
