Been working on the truck all summer. DOT inspected back in Oct. Took delivery of my new trailer last week and finally out here fooling people into thinking I am actually successful with a nice pretty truck and nice pretty trailer.

2nd day out and I got flashed some very nice ta ta's. Thank you hun,.. who ever you are.

According to the diagram table, cuts along the same edge of the strap are not added together, but cuts on the one edge, in the middle and the opposing edge are. So as long as each cut is less than 3/4" along one edge of the strap, you're good, but as soon as they are in more than one place across the face, they all add up together.

I don't like guessing with this stuff (especially now that I'm my company's official driver trainer), I always go to the source.

Now here's my important question:

Does the CVSA have any legal authority to create oos criteria or is that more of a semi official suggested guidance for officers to follow?

Wouldn't know. This is the official criteria the DOT/MOT follow when doing inspections. I would assume it's authorized legally.

I think it was more of studies conducted by that one program that also does the sleep studies the gooberment went off of that was never printed on paper for the gooberment to follow. It was all hearsay.
