    Of course not that would take up some of the time they saved by skipping some of the securement.

    You can see in the picture that straps fail. I see them across the tires from one side to the other where they can slip.
    On small tractors you could use 2 inch straps with hooks and secure like chains but why not use your chains..

    Oohh....they were just throwing the straps over and not actually securing the tractor, that makes more sense.

    I kind of answered part of my own question on Friday, trying to tie down an inline 6 Volvo motor. With the way the winches are mounted on the trailer, I found you actually cant really use straps in an "X". It seems the straps are meant to go straight across. In hindsight I should have had them load it lengthwise on the trailer, it would've been easier to secure.

    And I didn't want to use chains in that circumstance, because I didn't want to run the risk of damaging anything, this was a good motor. The core, if I'm assigned to take it back, chains all the way.
