    1) get paid to exercise and live a longer, healthier life.
    2) pay to go somewhere to exercise and live a longer, healthier life
    3) sit in the seat, lay in the bunk, do nothing and get this life over with sooner...

(there are more options but those are the most common, in no particular order)

Anywhere from $100.00 up to maybe $200.00 or sometimes $250.00 and usually 2 or 3 loads a week.

Wish it had been that good. Didn't do that for 25 years or 52 weeks a year. It did allow me to take at least a month off every year and travel to the Orient with the little wifey. My buddy did the same & we both own condo's about 3 blocks from each other in the Orient. It was hard work, but enabled me and my buddy to have paid off condo's for vacations & retirement. Just depends on the individual; some want a cabin on a river for fishing during retirement, some want an RV for travel, some want a condo on the beach in Florida. Some of us want a condo in the Orient; mine and my friends are 3 bedroom two bath with whirlpool tub in a gated complex. Walk outside the complex and get a 1 1/2 hour full body massage for $5-$7 dollars w/free drinks & food. You understand, guys need to get away and do guy stuff sometimes. Hey, that's not for everyone!

Most truckload companies seldom offload.Company pays lumpers to do it. LTL companies (Less Than Truckload) almost always offload along with a million stops . Food industry companies offload their product Sysco, Reinhart, DOT Food. I pull a food grade reefer and never touch product. Company doesnt want us getting hurt. It's either free or company pays them with a Tcheck that I hand them lumpers

Same here, except for yesterday's load. For whatever reason they required me to sort the pallets. It was only about 8 thousand pounds or so... sure didn't seem like it. One box at a time.

If you like physical work, unloading a trailer on your own (mostly ramp work, some power tail-gate / power walker), Sysco is the place for you. Wage now is $28.70 per hr. Come June will be over $30.00. It's not easy work, but a great way to stay in shape, and home at the end of the day. :)

When I worked for Stevens, I flat out told them I wouldn't touch the freight for less than 10% over what a lumper quoted me to.unload. needless to say they always gave me a PO for the lumped fees I paid out.
