In the winter I always carry a bag of salt. Nothing worse than having ice on your deck and trying to put a load on. This way you can put the salt down and melt the ice off you're putting the boards.

That would be the GP plant in Apex, NV.

Seems they may have had a legal problem a while back.

They now have a tarp setting system in place.

Big John and volvodriver01 Thank this.

Hey Don't laugh at these. If you turn them inside out, some will be black others white.

They are the same material as a mid weight tarp.

No D rings or grommets, but you can get a pallet of 36 for $280.00.

barroll, Big John and volvodriver01 Thank this.

The old Werner truck with the pipe; in the last pic you see the landscaping timbers he used broke up. Could be why his load loosened up on him. That had to be one heck of a slap in the back of the head.

Always use hardwood 4x4s NOT soft gardening wood.

Yep OAK 4x4s. Also I dont know about you guys but I use straps on my pipe loads with a couple chains and I ALWAYS put atleast 2 in that first 4 feet just like DOT wants you to. If you use the proper amount of securement and make sure your doing your load checks you should not have this problem. O yeah did I mention proper following distance plays the BIGGEST roll in not having a load come through the back of your head?

    lowjo and Flatdecker Thank this.

As for this idiot with 2 chains????? WTF was he thinking is right! Im pretty sure I know where he picked those up at. They should weight in at about 10-15K a piece so I would of had 6 chains. Thats just me and my over securing everything though. What can I say, I dont want to be that guy.:biggrin_25512:

I was only their once and that was back in 2008. Then I put it on my do not load list. I loaded at another wallboard place in the Vegas area several times in 2007 and 2008 but can't recall the name of it either. But you got off at the T/A Truck stop exit and went several miles west and it was on top of a hill. Nice place to load, usually pretty fast and had nice place to strap and tarp if needed.

I believe that would be PABCO Gypsum. Good place as Gyp goes.
Usually load 4 trucks at a time. Plenty of room to work.
