So I recently got a demo account with DAT just to get a feel of the flatbed market. I’m seeing loads posted for as low as $1.14/mile.
what I’m wondering is, are people really hauling for that rate?

Keep at it. I’ve seen $.79 a mile.
I run off dat and still pulling $8-10k weeks you just need to run smart and avoid certain areas.beastr123 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Yeah, and may not be long before your fighting to get that.
Snailexpress Thanks this. -
Yes, welcome to the market correction, hope you didn't go buy a 250k dollar truck and 100k dollar trailer planning on making it big off the spot market.

That I did not lol I’m pretty comfortable in my ‘98 Pete. Just looking around in case my local hopper lane takes a dump

Everything is taking a big dump at this point looks like.

So what are the cargo insurance requirements for the average flatbed load?
-
I always ask my dispatch if that's true what I see. I don't think it's just because of the market. It's because of the people willing to get 48k (and such loads are mostly that) "just to get out of there". Since they don't realize that it's cheaper to make a 200 mile dhd run than haul these loads. Making the market even worse.beastr123, TheLoadOut and Rubber duck kw Thank this.
