The load would of had to of slid from the back half of the trailer to move the weight to the drives as I don't think your weight will transfer in the front of the trailer if it did move. It use to be when we didn't have a slider on the trailer and you had to get in the trailer and move meat or product as in produce like potatoes to transfer weight you would have to move it from the back of the trailer to quite aways ahead of the center of the trailer to get the weight to shift and same way if you were heavy in the front you carried from the front to the back so I would just guess it slid from the back by possibly being a gap in the middle of the load.

Check your loads before you haul them. It will save you alot of grief. But you already know that now.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Or heck, when I am right with the first guess.

Exact same thing happened to me 8 years ago. Loaded bean seeds in Indiana. Not allowed on docks. They used black plastic crates like some auto suppliers use. Cheap freight hauler I drove for routed me across I 68. Got to Maryland scale, 2.5k over on drives. $110 ticket.
Got to receiver and found the reason. Crates were double stacked and split over the axles with a big gap center trailer. They did not block in the rear crates and they had slid forward.

This is one reason I don't think I'll ever go back to closing doors. You never know how that load is put in the trailer, especially if you are hooking to a sealed trailer. With flatbed the crane or forklift driver is working with me, asking how I want it loaded. I secure the load to my satisfaction and then add another strap or chain. With the rough roads I drive on I don't think a load of unsecured pallets in a trailer would make it.

Been told the bull rack guys can hide 3 to 4 thousand pounds on a split scale platform.
Pile em in the back and then pile em in the front.

Yes. With that much weight you'll know something moved back there.

Scale master says to the Bull Hauler "You know you're 4,000 lbs over on your drives?"

Bull Hauler says "Hey, I can only get them in the trailer. I can't tell them where to stand while you're weighing me. It's cold outside and their bunching up in front. Would't you?"
