over the last 2 months and 50+ loads with jb hunt, I had zero layovers. The one time they offered me layover, i said no thanks, dropped the trailer at receiver for another jb hunt driver to deliver and got paid the full rate in my bank account the following morning. From what i've been told by landstar drivers, they get a lot more frequent layoevers where they are actually stuck for a day or more with their load.

I don't have frequent layovers with Landstar because I don't take the loads that have too much time on them unless I need/want to sit for a reason. Landstar doesn't force us to do anything. We choose the loads and we choose if we even want to work. So if a driver is laid over it's their fault for choosing the load. You really don't know anything about how Landstar works.

I'm in my 5th year at Landstar and I'm still living in the truck with The OM eating Beefaroni.

Recommend going to Schneider or JBHUNT.

layover is by definition unplanned... I was saying that when a problem comes up with delivery, i have been able to turn down layover pay and drop the trailer anyways for some jbhunt driver to deliver it the next day or whenever.

gee, i meant agent or whatever you want to call it. What you are saying is what i meant. Takes luck and possibly a long time to get into your position. Not something available to everyone for just being at landstar. These sweet deals happen at jb hunt too and other companies too. The dispatch with 9 drivers i mentioned is that way. His list is made of 9 drivers and loads he offers them are optional. Loads i do with jb hunt, i get from loadboard and mostly in the middle of the night when nobody is in the office. I always have my phone off when i sleep. Phone load offers are not welcome to diturbe my sleep:)
