Is there such a thing as local dedicated? I have a really good driver that likes dedicated runs. I'm trying to find some way of using him from Houston to 250 miles out -/+ some. I could sign a truck to a company and have drivers to cover him for his vacation/sick days/ truck problems. Any help would be great. Thanks

There is you just have to find a company that does it in your area. Schneider in our area has something like that for a grocery retailer.

I ran for JB Hunt years ago under their DCS (dedicated contract services) and had a driving gig much like that. I did K Mart Ontario Distribution to store delivery up to 150 miles from the DC. 2 stores a day and an occasional back haul. It was cake, only thing that sucked was city traffic, waiting on live unloads(non drop and hook stores), and early start time.
