Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Is it 4 days?

Most drivers would quit if that were the case. They want the overtime pay.88 Alpha, firemedic2816 and tscottme Thank this.

I'm shocked the trucking industry doesn't make it more attractive by giving 8 hour shifts more often
firemedic2816 Thanks this. -
8 hr. shifts look good in ads, but not so good on the paycheck.
For example, the Sysco jobs in Orlando, the drivers make from $75K to well over $100K per year.
Can't make that money working 8 hr. shifts.
Sysco drivers work hard and have the bank accounts and retirement accounts to prove it.firemedic2816, snowlauncher and MSWS Thank this. -
I think I'm going to still try and get my license
-
It's not really feasible. They would either have to cut into those 8 hour shifts so drivers could swap trucks or they'd have to buy more trucks so the next driver is ready when the previous one leaves.tshanabr29 and Chinatown Thank this.

Also keep in mind that most drivers have to do some OTR/Regional in the beginning. It's not impossible to get a local job straight out of school, but it's never been easy, and we're in a tight market right now.snowlauncher Thanks this.

Sysco and Florida Rock & Tank are local from day one.
MSWS Thanks this.
